Smithville, Missouri, USA

There has been a stillness in the air today with not a sound to disturb the peace. The setting sun turned the sky into a blend of the most delicate shades of blue and pink and apricot over the pristine landscape of frozen snow. As the sun sets the shadowed snow turns blue, at the horizon the sky has turned a delicate shell pink, thin clouds are delicate apricot against the palest of blue.

Dried flower heads against snow, Smithville, Missouri, USA

A bleak and cold day with temperatures well below freezing. Sullen, grey clouds turning the landscape monochrome, the frozen snow brilliant white against a steely sky.
Today's photo of dried flower heads reminded me of snowflakes. I've always loved black and white photography and using monochrome today seemed a good representation of the way the day felt.
