U.S. Marine Corps Memorial, Arlington, Virginia, USA.
Just outside Arlington National Cemetery stands the Marine Corps Memorial, with bronze figures 32ft tall. The statue was based on the photo taken at Iwo Jima of the raising of the US flag above the beaches by Marines. The names of every engagement in which the USMC has fought are engraved in the granite plinth on which the statue stands.
