Georgetown, D.C., USA

The shadow fell almost down the centre line of the door, almost as if dividing the entrance from the exit.

Georgetown, D.C., USA

Burst of colour on M Street, Georgetown. Surprisingly this is not the ground floor but the 2nd floor and it makes you wonder where this door was supposed to lead.

Chesapeake and Ohio Canal, Georgetown, DC, USA.

We walked across the Key Bridge to Georgetown today crossing the Potomac and then the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal that runs parallel to the river. The sun was shining brightly belying the bitter cold wind that was blowing, freezing everything.

Potomac River from Key Bridge, between Rosslyn VA, and Georgetown, DC, USA

Icy wind blowing down the river, freezing all in it's path. The Potomac River was covered in ice with a blanket of snow, from the Virginia shoreline to Georgetown. Small breaks in the ice showed the grey water with little wind-created ripples that lapped at the ice edges.
