The setting sun sending long shadows, across the fallen snow, from the headstones in Arlington Cemetery. The muffling effect of the snow emphasising the reverential atmosphere of the National Cemetery where even the graves of the unknown are treated with respect.

Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, USA.

As far as the eye can see, row on row, precisely placed, white headstones with names of the fallen. There is such peace here amongst the graves, peace only shattered by the occasional volley of rifle fire and lonely sound of a bugle drifting with the wind to marking the passing of another.
